Who We Are
The Dadaab Refugee-Led Organizations Network (DARLON) is a coalition of over 25 refugee-led organizations operating in the Dadaab refugee camps. Established to strengthen the collective voice of refugees, DARLON amplifies local solutions and empowers refugee communities through coordination, advocacy, capacity building, and grassroots action.
We believe that refugees are not just beneficiaries but active leaders and changemakers in their own communities. Our network covers a diverse range of sectors including youth empowerment, education, livelihoods, sports, peacebuilding, gender-based violence prevention, and environmental protection.

OUR WORK
We believe that refugees are not just beneficiaries but active leaders and changemakers in their own communities. Our network covers a diverse range of sectors including youth empowerment, education, livelihoods, sports, peacebuilding, gender-based violence prevention, and environmental protection.

Youth Empowerment
We support youth-led initiatives to promote leadership, education, and positive participation in community life. Through dialogues, entrepreneurship support, and life skills training, we help youth become agents of peace and development.

Peacebuilding & Social Cohesion
DARLON organizes football tournaments, dialogues, and mentorship forums that bridge divides between diverse refugee and host communities, promoting peaceful co-existence and integration.

Education & Digital Literacy
In partnership with education partners and digital hubs, we facilitate community-based learning, promote girls’ education, and bridge the digital divide through ICT training for refugee youth.

Sports for Development
Through sports tournaments and training for referees and officials, we use sports as a unifying platform to promote teamwork, health, and social responsibility.

Environmental Action
Our member RLOs lead tree-planting campaigns, clean-up drives, and promote sustainable agriculture through home gardens, especially in partnership with agencies focused on climate resilience.

Livelihoods & Entrepreneurship
We collaborate with partners like Inkomoko to provide business skills, mentorship, and start-up support for refugee entrepreneurs, especially youth and women.
Join a movement powered by refugees, for refugees.
DARLON brings together over 25 refugee-led organizations driving change from the ground up — in education, peace, youth, and more.
