Like any other youth, refugee youth have dreams. They dream of becoming pilots, lawyers, world-leading entrepreneurs, engineers, judges, ministers, and even presidents.
But these dreams are held hostage by barriers beyond their control. Refugee youth lack livelihood opportunities, investment, and access to holistic developmental support.
As humanitarian services shrink, no alternative pathways or opportunities are being put in place.
The result?
A generation of talented, resilient young people feeling neglected, denied, and sidelined.
They are not treated with the respect and consideration they deserve.
Refugee youth should not be left to wait indefinitely for “better days.” They need action now.
At DARLON, we believe refugee youth deserve the same opportunities as any other youth.
We call upon governments, humanitarian actors, development agencies, and the private sector to:
A. Invest in refugee youth skills, education, and innovation.
B. Expand livelihood opportunities that restore dignity and self-reliance.
C. Ensure refugee youth are included in decision-making and leadership spaces.
D. Build sustainable pathways for development that leave no refugee behind.
The future of refugee youth is not just their future, it is the future of all of us.
Justice, dignity, and opportunity must belong to everyone, including refugee youth.
